In 2011 we expanded by adding a Do-It-Yourself Demo Tent. The theme was “Local All Year Round.” This volunteer-run portion of the event requires experts in a variety of areas related to food, urban homesteading, living green, environmental sustainability, etc., to share their skills with the 30,000 eaters at the 2011 Boston Local Food Festival. Volunteer presenters were given a free 30-minute slot to share tips. Volunteers were required to bring all necessary equipment (power and butane burner was available on a limited basis).
